'Face Control' - Ancestral Phenotypes

Caroline of Nassau, Christina of Denmark, Barbara Jagiellon with percentages on blue background.

Our faces can literally be the visualisation of our ethnic mix and a permanent display of our ancestral background.

Seraphina's facial features bear distinct traces of her major paternal, and selected maternal, lineages going as far back in history as 15th century. The reason for such phenomenal preservation of certain ancestral features and through them ethnic components is attributed to intermarriages within relatively tight familial groups. In Seraphina's case, certain ancestral lineages run on both her maternal and paternal sides.

Seraphina's facial features comparison to her paternal and maternal direct ancestors revealed an 'echo chamber effect' phenomenon when certain facial features of Seraphina echoed back from her ancestors of centuries ago. The facial comparison was performed using an AI tool - 'Compare-a-Face' (Family Search).

The most striking resemblances can be found on Seraphina's mother's side with Stanislaw Potocki (1752-1805) and Alexander Lvovich Narushkin (1760-1826), and on on her father's side with Hesse lineages, including Louis IV of Hesse (1837-1892), Elisabeth of Prussia (1615-1885), Louis II of Hesse (1777-1848), as well as with Caroline of Nassau-Saarbrücken (1704-1774), Christina of Denmark (1521-1590), and Barbara Jagiellon (1478-1534).
